“When things stand in the way of realizing your dreams, you must learn to take a leap even if you aren't ready. My dream was to travel the world and to see and experience different things. Initially, I felt a little intimidated by the idea of traveling alone because I didn't speak much English. I started off by picking up bits and pieces of English from magazines and the internet. After endless hours of podcasts and language lessons online, I finally felt confident.
Where I come from, taking a break to travel the world is not a popular concept. So I decided to quit my job and finally give wings to my dreams. The best part about travel for me is that I get to explore the diversity places have to offer. I can't even begin to explain what these diverse experiences have taught me about life.
I have been to over 40 countries now. From all these journeys, I have realized that traveling opens up options unlike anything else. And unless you know it, you cannot choose it. Interactions with people from all over the world made me learn a lot about my own culture. In Japan, we do not always express our needs, desires, and frustrations. It was only after many difficult relationships that I learned the fact that communication is crucial in a relationship. Travel taught me that. I am much less miserable for it.
Now, whatever life brings and wherever it takes me, I am up for it." @orekizoku
