Not the inky blackness of space, but our surroundings.
Do you like being in spaces that a busy, full of people with lots going on, or do you prefer a more subdued environment with more space
I have been involved in a lot of discussions recently about the inclusiveness of spaces. Spaces including within a building, the building as a whole, along with connection with the community, culture, and history of a space.
It has made me realise that what I/we do on a daily basis can really affect people’s mood, experiences, and how connected they feel to each other and the city.
Space is something we take for granted here in NZ. I love going for walks up mountains for hours at a time, and some of those adventures I may not even see a single person. Contrast that to Tokyo or Hong Kong where you are surrounded by people and anthropogenic noises all the time.
Which leads me to today’s question: Have you visited a place or been into a building and had a feeling of connection? Was it outdoors or in a city? .
