T E N years, y’all! I decided to do the whole ten year challenge and wow! These ten years have been the MOST life changing in the best ways. If you have been following me for a while, you have seen the picture on the left a few times. The picture on the left is my favorite picture and means the most to me. For me, that picture was what changed everything for me. Ten years ago I was making some pretty freaking incredible memories, spending time with people I loved, and just living life to the fullest. The problem was, I had no control over my health during that time of my life. I was far too preoccupied with all the fun things around me! Thank goodness for the moment of clarity I had when I saw that picture! The decision to make vast improvements to my overall health and wellness has impacted my life in more ways than I could count. I’ve learned so much about myself over the past ten years, and I don’t intend on stopping at the end of a decade. The beginning of a new decade, year, month, week and day is new opportunity! Y’all-we literally have only one life to live. STOP living a life of excuses and really live out your dream! Go get what you want! I’m not where I wanna be, but I’m better and closer now than I was a couple months ago. I’ve lost about 3 inches per thigh 🙌🏼And let me give ya some real talk. Being almost 40 and trying to loose a little weight or get my legs back to where they were (lean muscular look), has been hell. I’ve always had a complex about my Legs (Since I was 13 sad huh. If you have followed me a while, you know that story) With age comes slower metabolism, messed up hormones, and well, life. Five years ago, it seemed like 5lbs came off easily....today, I don’t weigh myself, haven’t in forever, but do measure and I can tell you This, it doesn’t come off as easy lol. I refuse to live a lifestyle where I’m depriving myself of carbs, cheats, etc. I will never go back to eating the same crap (chicken and broccoli) everyday to look a certain way. With time, work, and letting my body adapt, it’s all coming back. Slowly but surely. So hopefully two months from now, I’ll be posting similar post but with even better results. Starting a short diet at 2,000 calories 🌯 Yup that’s right. 2,000 calories a day and hoping to lose a pound or two in the next 4 weeks. I’ve currently been eating closer to 2,300 calories a day and working out 3-4 days a week. For the next 4 weeks I’ll be aiming for 2,000 calories a day and working out 4-5 days a week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This means I’ll be in almost a 2,000 calorie deficit each week, that’s roughly half a pound. And we’ll see what happens! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stop trying to diet around 1,200 or 1,400 calories! Chances are that’s barely your resting metabolic rate (RMR-calories you’d burn if you laid in bed all day long) & the bare minimum you should be eating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you start your calories that low where are you going to move them when you start to plateau? You can’t move them lower. Oh hello there. it’s been a while. 10 weeks i think instagram says. ▪️ what happened? life happened. in the last 10 weeks, i built up an intense caseload for my job as a therapist that is both physically and mentally draining (i drive about 200 miles a WEEK). also, the time change in early november really messed with my overall mental health and i’ll be the first to admit that i am off my game. ▪️ today i worked out for the first time in a few weeks and it felt good. i did an easy workout in my apartment because i was feeling intimidated by the gym today (it happens). i forgive myself for not doing everything i want to do. each day is a new day and everyone do what you can. i know i am. ✌️
